PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project will address aging infrastructure and facilitate meeting of nitrogen and phosphorous limits as well as all other quantified permit requirements. The proposed WWTP improvements will improve water quality of the receiving streams while maintaining the existing WWTP treatment capacity, facilitate plant reliability in meeting permit limits and does not address growth.
a. Replacement of existing influent screens and washer compactors, b. Installation of a building to enclose the headworks to increase reliability and compliance limits for NPDES thermal requirements, c. Replacement of 2 In-Plant pumps and related sluice gate which will improve flow diversion to avoid overloading the nutrient removal basins, d. Replacement of 3 RAS pumps for return of adequate activated sludge to nutrient removal basins and addition of a WAS pump to Final Clarifier No. 1., e. Replacement of Operations Building Sanitary Grinder Pump Station., f. Modification of the Primary Sludge Pump discharge piping, g. New chemical (ferric chloride/alum) storage tank and appurtenances in dedicated building, h. Replacement of Motor Control Centers, PLCs, and Switchgear for increased reliability and resiliency, i. Addition of a nitrate probe to the BNR basins., j. Miscellaneous building and structural improvements; including HVAC equipment, roof, stairways, doors, and windows for safety and energy efficiency improvements., k. Repair of cracking and spalled concrete at Headworks
